Takedown and DMCA process

Revised on

Storage: none

Nothing it displays is stored here: no photo, no video, no profile data. Request path: the visitor’s browser asks our server, which queries an upstream data provider, a third party, for whatever the account shows publicly at that moment; the response is rendered client-side. Nothing persists after the tab closes. There is therefore nothing here to delete, and a single account or item cannot be suppressed server side for other visitors.

Takedown point: the source

At the source.

  • Owner: delete the post or story, or switch visibility to private. The provider then returns nothing for it, so nothing renders here.
  • Anyone else: report it to Instagram; its Help Centre has IP report forms. That removes material from the platform.

DMCA notices

Inbox: hello@anonsight.com. Every notice gets a reply. DMCA fields:

  • Claimed work.
  • Handle or URL of the item.
  • Good-faith statement: use not authorised.
  • Sworn accuracy statement; a false one is perjury.
  • Reply address.

Scope: our own texts and images are acted on. Content served from Instagram: the reply names the source-side route.

Disputing a takedown

Think material of ours was removed in error? Reply to the inbox giving your name and address, the affected content and your grounds. We forward that counter-notice to the sender of the first notice.
